Día de los muertos
Día de los muertos project, was based on the mexican holiday of día de los muertos or day of the dead. The project was centered around two parts, the Calaca and the Calavera. The Calaca is a representation of a person who has died, doing what they did when they were living. for this section of the project, I chose to portray my grandmother making ceramics. Along with the statue, I also had to write a Calavera about my grandmother. A Calavera is a poem that is often conveyed to be humorous and lightly make fun of the featured person.
I personally really enjoyed this project, it was a nice combination of challenging and learning. Not only did the DDLM project teach me about the spanish langue, but it also taught me about the culture. Thought the exhibition hall was crowed, it was great to see all of the schools spanish projects, ad how each kid interpreted the celebration differently. Above all it was a highly successful project, that i enjoyed very much.
