Brave New World Project Reflection1. Why did you choose the medium you did?
I chose to make a sculpture for my project because I personally like art that you can touch. Paintings are great but if art is even somewhat interactive, then I find it much more appealing to look at. The other reason I chose to do a sculpture is that I am a hands on learner, so I found that I would learn and think deeper about a project if I didn't make it on a computer. 2. How were you able to get your idea across using the basics (art elements and principles)? Using the art elements and principles helped me get my ideas across by exaggerating different parts of my project. For instance, I used the shape of the human figures, and turned them into soma tablets. I also used the colors of bright clothing to bring attention to the consumption part of my project. 3. If you were to do it all over again, would you do it the same way or what specifically would you change about your process on this project? If I had the chance to redo my whole project I would probably keep the same focus on the idea of the project, but I would also refine some parts of it. For instance, I would probably spend more time on making the human figures more refined and less sloppy. I would also spend more time fully covering the shopping bag with more pictures of consumption and self medication. Other than those small ideas I was very content with how my project was laid out. |

Prehistoric DrawingWith our prehistoric drawings, our class spent about a week or two taking notes about the history of art. About half way through, Roxy asked us to draw a prehistoric animal. I chose the horse and despite my inadequate drawing skills, it came out quite well. We then scanned our drawing into the computer and changed some of the elements, which caused us to have multiple versions.

Stop Motion Animation
My stop motion animation was probably the coolest thing I ever made. My partner Lia and I worked extreamly hard on shooting 715 carfully placed photos. Unfortunately my project fell apart. As soon as we tried to put the photos on the computer, problems came at us left and right. It took us seven tries to get the photos onto the computer and after that we had to go through and rename all of them. Putting the actual stop motion animation was hard because Adobe Flash proved to be a very difficult and confusing program. When it came time for me to put together the three parts of the almost completed animation my computer malfunctioned and I was never able to put the parts together. Luckily a friend of mine who is very good at tech work was able to do it. Though my animation works, I was never able to add music to my animation, nor can I upload the file, in account that it is too big. Even though my whole project ended up being a complete waste, it still taught me to persevere through things no matter how difficult they are.

What makes for an engaging book cover?
An engaging book cover has things that are aesthetically pleasing to the sight. This can be thing such as colors, or creative lettering. It may also have eye catching content to make people look twice such as a funny picture or inappropriate content. A good poster hints what it is about without telling its whole story. The last thing a engaging book cover will have is
How and why is art used as a vehicle for communication?
Art is use as a vehicle for communication in many ways. This can be shown through colors, or the simplicity of the picture. It can also be shown by looking at what the picture or panting is of. Artist do this to show different feelings communicate how you are feeling. Artist use this to create empathy from the viewer, and to communicate how they are feeling.
To what extent does a work of art depend on the viewers point of view.
A work of art only depends on a little bit on the viewer. The main goal of art is to express your work for you. It doesn't matter what other people think of it. The point of art is to be look at with different perspectives, not just to have one meaning. Because art doesnt have to be looked at a certain way, the viewers opinion don't matter very much.

Heery Potter Project
In our teacher animmal project we were supposed to chose one of our teachers to change them into our choice of animal or other creation. I choose to do a Harry Potter theme because I am a huge Harry Potter fan.
Photoshop Video Project
In this project each kid had to choose different Photoshop "How to" videos. After we chose our videos we had to follow them step by step to create our chosen effect. The examples I have are changing eye color, and changing hair color.
