Resolution
United Arab Emirates (Raven Fallon-Cyr)
PALESTINE AND ISRAEL; THE RIGHT OF RETURN
The General Assembly,
Noting with regret that the Palestinians are living in horrible conditions,
Having examined the Palestine, Israel conflict situation,
Influenced by the lack of support from the UN and lack of understanding of Arab countries surrounding Israel,
Observing that BBC News has summarized the Uinted Nations resolution 181 with “A Jewish State covering 56.47% of Mandatory Palestine (excluding Jerusalem) with a population of 498,000 Jews and 325,000 Arabs;
An Arab State covering 43.53% of Mandatory Palestine (excluding Jerusalem), with 807,000 Arab inhabitants and 10,000 Jewish inhabitants,”
Expecting Israel to not give up their geographical position of land,
Having studied that The National reminds people that November 29, 1947, the UN General Assembly “…voted in favor of a resolution dividing Palestine into two states - one Jewish and one Arab,”
Guided by Media clarifying the UN General Assembly also included “the guarantee of the rights of minorities and religious rights, including free access to and the preservation of Holy Places;” but that the resolution did not work,
Alarmed by the inadequate admission of Palestinian refugees into the surrounding countries of Israel,
Keeping in mind that it will be difficult to find a consensus between the two sides,
Recognizing that the Palestinians are without a homeland and that Israel insists on not parting from the country of Israel,
Aware that the Palestinians have nowhere perpetually to live,
1. Proclaims that the Palestinians should not have the Right of Return;
2. Approves that Israel should be able to take full residency in the country of Israel;
3. Declares accordingly the surrounding Arab countries that are currently holding refugees, should supply permanent passports to the refugees:
(a) Jordan
(b) Lebanon
(c) Syria
4. Emphasizes that surrounding countries should help Palestinians secure a normal life in their countries;
5. Affirms the Israelis will get the country of Israel, as long as the Palestinians are given permanent passports;
6. Keeping in mind that countries who do take in refugees will be given aid, organized by the United Nations.
